Professional German Translation Services from a Qualified German to English Translator

German to English translator Joanna Scudamore-Trezek

Do you have a German text you need translated into English?

If you know a machine translation can almost be worse than no translation at all, and an amateur translation could leave you or your organisation with egg on your face, lost business, or a dent in your reputation, then you need the translation services of a professional German to English translator.

I’m Joanna, and I’d be delighted to help.

My background

I’m British, English is my native tongue, and I was brought up in the UK.

I’ve been living in German-speaking Austria since the early 1990s, where I've been working as a professional German to English translator for over 20 years.

I translate German into English for a range of translation agencies and private clients, both in Austria and abroad.

It's important for any German translator to keep up their English skills, and so I also write newsletter and marketing copy for major international corporations, and I spend at least 5 weeks each year in an English-speaking country.

My qualifications as a translator

  • I’m a Member of the British Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL)
  • I have a Diploma in Translation (Dip.TransIOLeT), the Institute’s professional qualification.
  • I have a BA and MA from the University of Cambridge
  • Before coming to Austria, I spent several years working in London, in marketing & public relations.

I specialise in translating...

What my clients Say...

"Liebe Joanna, vielen Dank für die Übersetzung und die kurzfristige Hilfe, du bist die Beste!"

#

"Hi Joanna, In case I haven’t told you before, you’re an angel! Thank you!"

#

"Dankeschön liebe Joanna, auf dich ist echt Verlass! :-)"

#

"Vielen, vielen Dank Joanna für deine wie immer verlässliche und tolle Hilfe!"

#

"Dear Joanna, Thanks very much for delivering the changes well ahead of schedule and for the helpful feedback they contain. In particular your suggestion of "inclusivity" gets much closer to the intended meaning. And of course the many shifts of temporal clauses within sentences are very helpful. This is precisely the sort of inexactitude of expression that I depend on a proofreader to point out."

#

Leser abgeschwächt, was ich gerne akzeptiere. Danke für deine Mühe."
